Fancy being in Greenwich Park without leaving your house? This is the amazing view INSIDE a home in Park Vista, directly opposite the historic park.
Walk into the bedroom and you’re up a tree enjoying panoramic views - there’s Vanburugh Castle … and the Royal Observatory … the Old Royal Naval College down below … and Canary Wharf across the Thames.
There’s even a Greenwich Park squirrel tucking into a nut!
The Stunning room is the work of artists Robert Saw and Jack Thurgar - also known as The Wonderscope.
Think you recognise their work? We’re delighted to say we played our part!
“We got our biggest commission so far as a direct result of the article you featured on us earlier in the year”, says Jack. “ The commission was to create a mural which transformed the top floor room into a tree house view of Greenwich Park. It’s a blurring of the real landscape and an imagined one,” Jack adds, “in a full 360 degree vista and covers the whole room, all four walls, the ceiling and even the back of the door. Our clients had a fantastic vision and we helped them create a real sense of depth in a small room. We worked really hard on it for about 10 weeks over the summer and we’re really proud of it.”
Jack and Robert began by listening to the home-owners’ ideas, taking photos in the Park, painting a watercolour first draft to scale, then doing the painstaking work in high quality acrylic paint, covered with a clear varnish.
And there’s a added extra for the clients. “We always give the client all the designs at the end of the job to keep,” says Jack. “Some people like to put these in frames to display, as they make a lovely token and are pieces of art work in their own right.”

Fancy your own Painted Hall? Artists Jack Thurgar and Robert Saw can decorate your home with a fabulous mural like this.
Their Business - The Wonderscope - offers high quality, bespoke art painted directly on your walls.
The former street artists have Masters Degrees in Fine Art so expect a quality finish.
It means the magnificent Painted Hall in Greenwich’s Old Royal Naval College might one day have a challenger!
Jack says: “Murals are becoming very in vogue now, with the return in taste for the Victorian style. We cater for each commission individually but our mural style has influences from Victoriana, Art Nouveau, Art Deco but with contemporary twists.”
He added: “We were both street artists in our twenties, creating conceptual street murals and pop-up installations around London and other European cities. We then both took Masters Degrees in Fine Art at London art colleges and truanted in classical painting. We originally met on the Fine Art Degree course at Middlesex University back in 2000 and are both from Greenwich.”
The Mural shown here is in the guest room of Tim and Lydia Sutton in Calvert Road, Greenwich. It features birds that can be spotted in London,” Jack adds. “We are currently completing another commission in a house in Hither Green. The design is created from British wild flowers.”
